Dear Cathy
Sorry to
answer you so late, but the restart of the day-to-day life is
difficult after a beautiful hollyday. Unfortunately we did not
find the time to meet in Yangon. The trip with the Ayer Princess
was extremely nice and we have the following comments:
- the food
on board was really good and the cook makes really miracles in
such a small place. But I think that making a fire on a beach
with simply a grilled fish with chilli would be fantastic from
time to time
- also sleep
on an island would be great. For example reduce the lenght of a
tour and stay 2-3 days on a beautiful island (as 115) - this
could be a kind of a Robison Crusoe approach.
- we
encountered a small problem with the shrimps that obviously did
not support well the freeze-thaw repeats in the freezer on
board. We were covered by buttons but nothing serious. The boat
is going close to many shrimpers (boats that fish shrimps) and
it could be easier to stop and buy fresh fish or shrimps
directly. This could be also a good deal for the fishermans...
These island
are so marvelous that I am affraid that there will be destroyed
by the mass tourism and the fishing boats from Japan or
Thailand. An ecological approach and such a label for your
agency should be fantastic. Having cans of Coke and Sprite on
board are not necesarily the signs of the best of the the such
called civilization. Maybe local products might be better (local
beer, tea).
As agreed I
enclose 4 pictures. I can continue to send pictures and avoid
then to saturate the server and your mailbox.
Again we
really enjoyed our trip and hope to revisit these islands one
day. Our friends were very happy to see our pictures from Mergui
islands and (who knows) will take one day the Ayer Princess.
Best regards

What a wonderful journey we have had three beaches from
Califonia in pursuit of magnificent beaches, islands and
underwater splender__ We have found it! IT's been a grand
adventure __ Crew has nurtured us with great food, Myanmar
hospitality and attentive to our needs. Island tripping in ther
Mergui Archepilago has been filled with fun discoveries> The
Moken village with Honey Patta DVD's was amusing - the merement
in the middle of a jungle island selling fried banana- always
something new to see and do.
Thank you for a great trip - we will press the land to our
adventure seeking friends about the island of Mergui and the
grand snorkeling - kayaking to be found there!

This boattrip was an special experience for us. We thank the
helpful, friendly staff. The food is delicious, special thanks
to the cook, who prepares great dishes in his small kitchen. The
service is so excellent, that even my mother would be jealous.
The islands are beautiful-white beaches, jungle, no tourists and
peaceful evenings under the stars of the Andaman Sea.
We recommend this trip very much to everybody.
Thank You!

Crew : Very nice!
weather :perfect!
Food :delicious!
Some of the islands, beaches, colorful fishes and coral made us
think discovering a piece of paradise.
My favorite is Lampi island; Kayaking on the river, discovering
elephant traces on the beach and swimming in turquises, clear
water.
We watched sea-eagles playing with a rope(training school for
catching fishes) we assumed. And advised a wonderful
star-covered sky while sleeping on deck of night.
And with George from Burma, now living in Lavada, we had a very
nice travel compaign.
