How to Get to Mergui Archipelago

1. From Thailand, You must first get to Ranong - a border town on Pakchan River. You can get there by -

  • Bangkok-Surat Thaini by flight and Surat Thani to Ranong by car (2½ hours)
  • Bangkok-Phuket by flight and Phuket to Ranong by car (4 hours)
  • Bangkok-Phuket by Bus. The bus leaves from the bus terminal (Sai-Tai-Mai in Thai) at 8:00 and 9:00 p.m.
  • It takes 9 hours to get to Ranong and costs about 428 Baht per person.
  • Bangkok-Chumphon by train and Chumphon-Ranong by car.
  • There are International Direct Flights to Phuket from Sydney (Jetstar), Perth (TG), Singapore (Silk Air),

There are regular bus and mini-vans to Ranong from Phuket. In Ranong, at the jetty you can just hop on any long tail boat which will take around 43 minutes to get to Victoria Point. You just tell the boat man that you need immigration stamp and they will point you the right direction. The Burmese Immigraiton is right at the Myoma Jetty (5 minutes walk from long tail jetty). 2. From Yangon (Myanmar). You can fly to Kawthaung (Victoria Point). Air Bagan flies 3 times a week and less punctual Myanmar Airways has daily flights. Please note that the flights can be cancelled due to weather or other unpredicatable circumstances. You can also leave the country from Kawthaung-Ranong Immigration check point.

2.a. There are express boats running daily from Dawei and Myeik to Kawthaung. It takes about 9 hours from Dawei and 6 hours from Myeik to Kawthaung. Cost = 25 US$/pax.


HOW TO GET TO ANDAMAN RESORT

Yangon to Kawthaung takes 1 hr 40 min by domestic airlines. Myanmar Immigration Check Point at Kawthaung (Victoria Point) to Andaman Resort by speed boat (1 hr 40 min). One Two Go airlines also operate daily from Bangkok to Phuket and Surat Thani. It takes about 5 hours drive from Phuket to Ranong and 3 hours and 30 minutes drive from Surat Thani to Ranong by private taxi. From Yangon to Myeik (Mergui) 1 hr by domestic airlines and 14 hrs cruise from Myeik to our resort. Also by cruise or yacht from Phuket, Krabi and Hat Yai of Thailand.


Southern Thailand Train line

Runs from Bangkok to Singapore along the east side of peninsula Thailand. Connections
to Koh Samui, Koh Phangan Krabi and Phuket are served by combo tickets which include bus and boat transfers. Return tickets are via Surathani station. Koh Tao is served by Chumphon station. We can issue tickets to Had Yai and 2nd class to Butterworth.
